Client: San Diego State University and San Diego graphic design community

In April 2017, I received a grant to organize an event to benefit San Diego State University, called SDSU Design Week, which brought graphic designers from various parts of the country to talk about their research, methods, and work in design. Working with my advisor, Arzu Ozkal, we organized a series of lectures and workshops for students, faculty, and professionals across the community that aimed to inspire and redefine what it means to be a designer in contemporary culture, where creative fields are becoming increasingly collaborative, experimental, and interdisciplinary. This opportunity enabled me to engage in dialogue about the state and future of design pedagogy, which is important to me as a developing educator in the arts.
