This series consists of 28 collected filler word phrases often used in colloquial speech and writing. They may not be verbally necessary, but why do we use them? They help us pause, reflect, and deliver words with a neutral cadence, serving as a filter for the thoughts we sometimes struggle to articulate.

These prints were created with “moveable type”, fabricated from acrylic, that was designed and then laser-etched. Just as filler words serve as in-between moments for us in speech and writing, “filler” here serves as the “filling” physical embodiment of letterforms.
