The 5W's

Artist’s Book with paste paper, handwritten text, photographic inkjet prints, ink drawings, found text, assorted papers, and screwpost binding

The 5W’s, or Five W’s, are formulaic questions considered essential for information-gathering, often in fields of journalism, research, and forensic investigations. A ‘report’ can only be considered complete if the following questions can be answered:

Who is it about? What happened? Where did it happen?
When did it happen? Why did it happen?

This work attempts to address these questions as applied to a personal narrative. How can we mediate dynamic narratives in an information-saturated world that strives to find clear-cut answers?
